Computer Programming offers an introduction to the basics of computer science along with the basics of computer programming. Scholars work through a series of projects using CS Discoveries on code.org that teach research method strategies while exploring technology. The material emphasizes computational thinking and helps develop the ability to solve complex problems. It gives a foundation in the tools used in computer science. Classwork consists of daily programming exercises, longer coding assignments, regular quizzes, projects and exams. Participation in group projects such as website design and graphics is required.
