4th Grade Math
What you Can Expect:
Students will engage in a variety of hands activities and problem-solving exercises. They will work collaboratively to explore key mathematical concepts and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
What Students Should Know by the End of the School Year:
Students will be proficient in performing operations with whole numbers and decimals, understanding fractions, and solving measurement and data problems. They will also be able to identify and classify geometric shapes and understand the properties of angles.
Objectives:
1. Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers and decimals.
2. Understand and compare fractions, including addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators.
3. Solve problems involving measurement, including length, weight, and volume.
4. Collect, organize, and interpret data using graphs and charts.
5. Identify and classify two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes as well as understand angle properties.
