Math- I want to instill a love of math. I want students to think math is fun! In 3rd grade we focus on the following topics of study:

  • Place value and equality

  • Real world applications of multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction

  • Real-world applications of fractions

  • Values of money

  • Geometric patterns

  • Beginning algebra

  • 3-dimensional figures

  • Measurement

  • Measurable attributes of real-world objects

  • Telling time on an analog clock

  • Analyzing data on charts and graph

 

 

Science- Students naturally have a curiosity about the world around them. Science is a great way to teach problem-solving and higher-level thinking.  In 3rd grade, we focus on the following topics of study:

  • From Molecules to Organisms: Structure and Function

  • Ecosystems: Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics

  • Heredity: Inheritance and Variation of Traits

  • Biology Unity and Diversity
