Hello Scholars and Parents!
My name is Stephanee Rice and I am very happy to be teaching again this year at ASTEC!
I have a B.S. in Sociology as well as a B.S. in Marketing from Oklahoma State University. I have 9 years of experience teaching middle school Social Studies in Oklahoma City.
I am ready to explore the wealth of wisdom & warnings as we learn from our past.
My Family!
My family is small. My son, James, and I love to travel around the U.S. looking for the natural wonders in American geography.

We go camping, hiking, and like taking the time to look around.

We also enjoy going to concerts together and I like it when James tells me about all the bands that I should, but don't know about because I'm "old". Ahh, teenagers...

When I was a kid (back in the 1900's) I wanted to be Indiana Jones when I grew up. He went on amazing adventures around the world, explored different cultures and even did a little treasure hunting and grave robbing.
As an adult I realize I got my wish. Indiana Jones is an archaeology professor who went on these adventures on the side. I am a history teacher who was dubbed the Bone Collector on an archaeological dig (where I found several buffalo bones & even a human tooth).
On my son's 1st camping trip we went digging for diamonds in Arkansas and visited a set of Native American Burial Mounds. We have explored caves, cultures, and cuisines from all over.
It just goes to show you dreams can come true, maybe a little different than you imagined sometimes.
