Mr. Freeze

Robert Friesenhahn holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Education degree from the University of Oklahoma. He has a lifelong passion for technology, building his first computer at the age of 12, and continues to apply his expertise through freelance computer programming and system building.

During his student teaching, his mentor teacher nicknamed him “Mr. Freeze.” The name reflects his strong demand for excellence and his deep commitment to students, and it has remained with him throughout his career.

Before transitioning into computer science education, Mr. Friesenhahn served as a band director, composing and arranging music for his ensembles, with several works published. As a professional trumpet player, he performed extensively in the Dallas–Fort Worth and Oklahoma City areas, sharing the stage with artists such as Kirk Franklin, The Temptations, Tom "Bones" Malone and Dave Stahl among others. He also served as a supervising teacher for Tarleton State University, where he mentored future music educators.

In addition to his teaching and technology work, Mr. Friesenhahn remains active in the local music community, performing with various groups in the Oklahoma City area. His combined background in the arts and technology brings a unique perspective to the classroom, where he encourages students to explore creativity, innovation, and problem-solving across disciplines.
