Latin III

Latin III expands upon the scholar’s knowledge of the Latin language and grammar as well as Classical culture (including mythology and history). It focuses heavily on advanced Latin grammar, Roman culture and advanced translation. Scholars will read and translate works by Classical authors such as Julius Caesar, Catullus, and Ovid. Scholars communicate in languages other than English, gain knowledge and an understanding of other cultures, reinforce and further their knowledge of other content areas through the study of Latin, demonstrate an understanding of the nature of language through comparisons of Latin with other languages and use the language both within and beyond the school setting.
