9th grade Physical Science

Course Description

Physical Science systematically studies matter, energy, and the laws governing the natural world. This course introduces scholars to chemistry and physics, emphasizing the structures of matter and the forces that shape motion and change. Scholars develop a foundation in scientific reasoning by exploring how particles interact to form substances, how energy transforms across systems, and how forces explain the behavior of objects from the smallest particles to the largest motions in the universe. Laboratory investigations and data analysis are central to the course, giving scholars experience in testing ideas, applying mathematics, and interpreting evidence. Physical Science provides the essential groundwork for advanced study in the sciences.
