Hey everyone! I’m Mr. Woods, your Esports teacher and coach — and I’m super excited to be here with you.

I grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and I’m finishing up my degrees in Management and Marketing at Oklahoma State University, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. I’ll be graduating in December 2025 — finishing two degrees in just three years! (Shameless bragging)

Back in high school, I got a head start on college by earning 24 credit hours before I even stepped on campus. I graduated with a 4.14 GPA, honors, and was named salutatorian. As my educational history shows, I take learning seriously, and pursue continuous opportunities to further my knowledge.

While at OSU, I found my passion for gaming and joined the Overwatch 2 Esports team. Competing at the college level showed me how awesome the world of Esports really is — not just for fun, but as a legitimate career path.

I’m here to help students explore how gaming can connect to real skills, incredible job opportunities, and even college scholarships. Whether you’re a gamer or just curious, there’s something here for everyone, and my mission is to prove it.

Outside of gaming and teaching, I’m into all kinds of hobbies — and I’m always down to chat about your favorite games, shows, or whatever you’re into. Let’s make this class something you look forward to every day!
For Those Interested in Playing on a E-Sports Team
This is more than just gaming. it’s about learning how to compete like a team, grow as leaders, and set a standard for what E-Sports should look like in a school setting. We’ll focus on real-world E-Sports skills: communication, roles, strategy, and how to function inside a competitive organization.
Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, you'll learn how to work with all kinds of teammates and step up as a leader in this growing field.
This year will be intense. We’re here to build something lasting — a legacy for future E-Sports players at ASTEC, and the rest of the world, to follow.
Let’s get to work.
