Math Class

​

As scholars continue their math experience into fifth grade, their learning experience will focus on these central strands: Numbers and Operations, Algebraic Reasoning and Algebra, Geometry and Measurement and Data and Probability. These strands will be addressed using real-world activities/lessons that warrant hands-on opportunities, while promoting problem-solving, reasoning, modeling, questioning, and generalizing. This year will build upon scholars’ fourth-grade experience and is a springboard to middle school math courses. (“Mathematics.” Oklahoma State Department of Education, 2020, sde.ok.gov/.)

Monday:

Scholars will go to their homerooms as early as 7:30 am and have breakfast until 8:00 am. Class starts with Bellwork and scholars are expected to write everything on the board.

 

Scholars have Specials at 11:30 am. Lunch is served from 12-12:30 pm. Recess from 12#0-1:00.   Dismissal is at 1 pm.

Tuesday-Friday: 

 

Scholars will arrive as early as 7:30 am. Class starts at 8:00 am. Specials are at 8:15-9:00 am. Lunch is served from 12-12:30 pm. Recess is from 12:30- 1:00.  Dismissal is at 3 pm.
